Featured Friend Friday presents . . . Gaby Esensten

Gaby is a photographer I met as she worked with me at United By Blue as the Film & Photography intern. Not only is she an amazing fashion photographer, but she specializes in portraiture and does wedding, performance, and fine art photography.

At United By Blue, she did some amazing work with product shots and the editorial lookbook. Some of my favorite shots are as follows:

See her full lookbook here.

Gaby has an incredible eye and she really celebrates the people she photographs and loves meeting new people. To that end she has a blog, called Public Space: The Square People

In her own words:

This blog began in Philadelphia when I met and photographed a different person in Rittenhouse Square each day. Everywhere I go, the search for square people continues. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!

Gaby has that rare ability to go anywhere and make strangers, friends. She loves to meet new people, hear their stories, and create portraits of these people that tell those stories. I completely recommend checking out her blog: http://thesquarepeople.blogspot.com/

She also loves shooting polaroids and has an extensive collection. Here are a few of my favorites:

All of these images can be seen at Gaby Esensten’s Portfolio

She’s also going to be featured in a blog I’m currently developing called, My Friends Make Art.  In it, I interview Gaby about her process, her goals, and the overall intention of her project The Public Space: Square People.
