Summer Living in the Low Country

This summer I was lucky to spend vacation time with family and friends in South Carolina. If you’ve never been to South Carolina, I highly recommend it. There’s a wide variety of things to do: go to the beach, go fishing, water skiing, and that’s not even talking about what you can do in Charleston. Go into the city and eat some of the best food the low country has to offer. If you skip on the Shrimp & Grits you’ll regret it forever.

For those who are so inclined here are a few places I highly recommend getting your eat on in Charleston:

That’s just three off the top of my head. If you’re looking for places to go during the day as you walk around, don’t forget to stop at Charleston Cooks! and try a cooking class. Makes sure to stop by the pineapple fountain and walk by Rainbow row. If you’re not interested in walking, take a scenic and lovely carriage ride. I’m also partial to their haunted ghost tours as it’s a fun way to learn about the lore and history of the Charleston area.

I could go on, but I’ll save the rest for another time. Now I’ll just share some photos that capture a few of my favorite moments and views down in South Carolina.

. . . She remembered watching a summer sunset from this very spot. Not so long ago; just a lifetime. – S.K. Penman
