My Life Motto

Never Stop Learning

Starting her career in photography and graphic design helped lay the foundation for Katharine’s future in web design and e-commerce. Taking responsibility for film, photography all the way to web, email and graphic design at the sustainable startup United By Blue, she quickly realized her passion lay in building and shaping web experiences. After completing a concentration in Web Design & Development from the University of the Arts in 2013, she shifted to a position as a front-end and UI developer for URBN, Inc (working for brands such as Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Free People.) During her time there, Katharine grew passionate about design systems, web accessibility, and designing and building digital product experiences with the customer front and center. In 2017, she went back to her design roots as Lead User Experience Designer for the Digital Product and Innovation Team at West Elm. She’s now helping keep commerce human as a Staff Product Designer at Etsy.

When she’s not at work you can find Katharine exploring any city she can get to with a camera in her hand or at a karaoke bar with friends singing her lungs out.
