Perpetual

This formation was found a little off the beaten path and well worth the exploration. Several trees have fallen in the woods around New Jersey and Pennsylvania because of Sandy and heavy rains this summer. This tree seemed to be reach back up to the light and I found it’s preternatural stillness mesmerizing. It seems to answer the old adage: “If a tree falls in the woods …”

I’m constantly amazed at the parallels you face when looking down. During our hikes, I’ve found many a composition right under my nose.
